Trouble Shooting

In this lecture you will learn about the main maintenance tasks. You will get familiar with the Ozeki 10 OS Control Panel. You will learn the most important acts, such as stop and re-start Ozeki 10 service, find logs, installation and configuration files, etc. After completing this lecture you will be able to solve the main operational issues and find solutions.

Task #1:

How to log in to Ozeki 10!

If the Ozeki 10 service is running, it is reachable through any webbrowser with the following link. Although on a remote machine you can change 'localhost' to the server IP in the HTTP address:

http://localhost:9505/?a=Desktop

This is Ozeki 10's browser client. The first screen you will see on the browser is the Ozeki 10 login screen. Type your username and your password (Figure 1) to start Ozeki 10.

Task #2:

Start Control Panel from Ozeki 10 desktop!

After logging in, you should find yourself on Ozeki 10's desktop, which contains the Control Panel, Recycle Bin, a Start menu and even a small clock in the bottom right corner. Now you should open the Control Panel (Figure 2), so you can add the connections and message routes for your Ozeki 10 solution. You can also check events and server informations through the Control Panel.

Task #3:

Stop Ozeki 10 service and start it again!


Step 1: Stop Ozeki 10

Let's see if you can stop the service and make the GUI and all Ozeki 10 features unreachable. Please open the 'Task Manager', where you can start or stop the Ozeki 10 service. If you cannot find the service, please click on it anywhere in the 'Task Manager' and press 'o' until you find it in the list (Figure 3). After right clicking on the Ozeki 10 service, please select 'Stop'.

Step 2: Restart service

Please stay at the same place you have stopped the service and restart it with your right mouse button and selecting 'Start' (Figure 4). If the status of Ozeki 10 changes to 'Running' than all Ozeki 10 features and remote browser options have been reactivated.

Task #4:

Find logs, installation and configuration files for Ozeki 10!


Step 1: Find Ozeki 10 logs

Find all event logs generated for Ozeki 10 in the following folder (Figure 5):

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Ozeki\OzekiClient\Logs

These logs contain HTTP communication and license logs, as well as all connection logs.

Step 2: Find installation files

The Ozeki installation files are kept stored in the installation folder. The files do not contain configuration details and you can not change the folder later on. The default path for your installed Ozeki 10 server can be reached in the following directory on your machine (Figure 6):

C:\Program Files\Ozeki\Ozeki10

Step 3: Find configuration files for Ozeki 10

The following folder stores the Ozeki 10 configuration files (Figure 7):

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Ozeki\OzekiClient\Config

Check the configuration subfolders for all installed Ozeki 10 applications beneath the 'System' folder.
